2019 Poetry Challenge - Week One
Week 1 words from @treen42: sunshine, tentative, growth, behind and regret.
sunshine streams down
upon her upturned face
drying silver salt trails
on her cheeks
she reaches out
a tentative hand
to touch the sky
hoping 2019
will be a year of growth
and she can finally
leave behind
regret

Here are the words and my poem for the very first week of the 2019 Poetry Challenge.
It was so exciting waiting for the words; wondering if anyone would send in anything and if I'd be able to write a poem with them. Luckily @treen42 sent me five terrific words and I was able to write a poem. Week one, you are done!
If you want to join the poetry challenge, head on over to my Instagram account where I post the words for the week on Mondays in my story. Be sure to tag me and use the hashtags #2019poetrychallenge and #livepoetsclub.
If you don't want to write a poem, you can still be part of the 2019 Poetry Challenge. Send me five random words and I'll use them in a poem. Either DM me on Instagram with the words or send me an email (indrani at indraniperera dot com).
Happy writing!
