Shortlisted for the Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Writing!

IP - Nilumbik 1

I woke up this morning to the best news ever!

My poem, empty nest, has been shortlisted for the 2022 Nillumbik Prize for Contemporary Writing in the Open Poetry section!

The other poets shortlisted for the prize this year are Judith Bishop, Gayelene Carbis, Yaron Fisher, Helen Hopcroft, Susanne Kennedy, Surya Prabhu Matondkar, Jenni Mazaraki, Marguerite Pulham, Alicia Sometimes and Saraid Taylor. I can't believe I'm in such sterling company with my poetry. It's a dream come true!

How cool is the title The Year I Found Out My Takata Airbag Might Kill Me?

The winners are announced on the 28th May 2022 and I can't wait to get a copy of the anthology and read all the poems as well as the short stories entered for the Alan Marshall Short Story Prize as well as the local and youth poets.

Sorry for all the exclamation marks this morning, I'm feeling very exuberant and I'm getting *a little* carried away! Also sorry (not sorry) for all the 'I can't believe its'.

I still can't quite believe it's true!
